Campaign Story

We are supported through grants, sponsorships, and memberships. We still need donations to meet the shortfall and to allow us to protect our native taonga.  You can help!

East Taranaki Environment Collective is a community-led conservation initiative administered by the East Taranaki Environment Trust.

Our mission is to protect the ecosystem and biodiversity in East Taranaki.  Our approach to restoring the ecosystem and increasing the native biodiversity of our 18,000-hectare project area is through the control of invasive pest species.  Our predator work consists of 1300 DOC 200 and 600 DOC 250 traps targeting mustelids, and over 1000 resetting traps (A12s and A24s) targeting rats and possums. Through our trap network and goat control, our pest operations provide a place for kiwi, kokako, New Zealand long-tailed bats and other native species to thrive.

You can help ensure that these species will still be here in New Zealand in the future. Your support is crucial to our efforts to help our native taonga to thrive.

Use of funds
Every dollar supports our work to restore the ecosystem and increase the native biodiversity of our project area through the control of invasive pest species.
You can pay online by entering your donation amount in the area above, or alternatively, you can pay by direct credit to our bank: 153947-0463618-00.
